Rib tips are the best in Memphis area, period! Sauce is fantastic and the brisket is the best I've ever had! Word to the wise: get at least two of the barbecue eggrolls. You might only one, but if you get to you get to take one home and eat it later! In a region known for barbecue Southern Pride Barbecue is right up at the top of the list!

I had a Groupon to check this place out. I'm a huge fan of BBQ and I was stoked to give it a try. I was expecting it to be more of a sit down BBQ joint like Corky's, but it had a diner style setting where you order your food from the counter and they bring it out in a basket. Food was good, portions not very large, staff is super friendly. We ordered: Rib tips dinner combo 1lb (includes 1 side, toast and drink) + Beef brisket sandwich Jumbo combo (includes 2 sides and drink). My boyfriend said his sandwich was pretty good. It was made on a soft texas toast. My dinner order of rib tips was delicious but underwhelming in portion. I will say this is my first time ever ordering rib tips and I don't know why would expect it to be anything but little cuts off the ends of ribs and include bones. So, I ate with my hands and it was a bit messy. But very saucy and tender. The only drawback was that I didn't feel like I actually ate 1 lb. My coleslaw side was creamy and peppery and the soft, buttery toast I could have eaten all day. But neither added much to make it feel like a dinner portion. I hadn't eaten much all day because I was expecting to go eat a dinner sized portion and be stuffed (or at least full). I was hungry again that evening. If I'm ever in Olive Branch again, I would visit again.

This place is really good!! My favorite is the burnt end, they're delicious!! I'm sure everything is good here but this in certain is...I seem to recall that I really liked their wings too!!

Ordered the ribs and they were undercooked. Sweet potatoe fries were not cooked as well. Fried corn was AMAZING! Unfortunately because the meat and fries were raw we returned our food and got a refund.

Delish! I was traveling from Illinois and stopped in after reading the reviews. Best pulled pork I've ever eaten. The banana pudding was also very good. Why four stars? They were out of the corn!

I've eaten here many times and never had a bad experience. I highly recommend the brisket, the bbq egg rolls and the corn. I have always found the people behind the counter to be very friendly. I live 10 miles from here, but when the mood strikes me I don't hesitate to venture across the border.

I was visiting this area when I came a crossed the good reviews for this restaurant. My hotel was next door and knew I had to try some Bar B Que. This understated restaurant is a special find. I went everyday of my stay. I loved the brisket sandwich. Simple but oh so good. Everyone who worked there was friendly, it was clean with tables and booths to sit. I will have to wait a year for my next visit but ...I WILL be back!

This place has made me write a review because it was that good! As a BBQ addict, this place is THE best BBQ I have ever tried! It honestly has ruined every other BBQ joint for me. I dream about the ribs and looking for an excuse to get back to the Memphis area to eat here again. If you are visiting Memphis, take the 15-20 minutes to go out of your way to try the ribs, they are that good!

I overheard a friend of mine talking about the BBQ that he had the other night I asked him where he got it and what he was talking about. He told me he had been to the new place on Hacks Cross by Osaka. I asked him what he had and he said the brisket. "The best I have ever had" he said. Hmmmm. I was ready for this! I walked in about 1:00 on a Friday and was glad to see a fair amount of people there eating. The staff was very friendly and greeted me immediately. I approached the counter and noted the special board. It was a bit confusing and hard to read. I asked the very nice lady what the best thing they had was and was shocked when she said the "Rib Tips". ("Really?", wow I said that out loud?) The guy behind the counter quickly corrected her and said "The Brisket" and boom, had a sample ready for me to try. Yummy, I'll take it! I had the sandwich with the fries. I waited for about 12-15 fifteen minutes which is no big deal considering the set up. It looked a bit inefficient just by peaking over the counter and checking out what was going on. I'm thinking... This is going to be awesome! They are making it all fresh. Food comes and looks pretty good when it arrives. I open it up and check it out and add the "Hot" sauce to a piece to make sure I'm good before adding. The hot sauce was not hot at all and really too sweet for me. I put my sandwich back together and went in for the kill. Boom. Disaster. The Texas Toast was luke warm and ridiculous soggy with some oily butter stuff and had no crunchy side at all. It all fell to pieces after one bite. No big deal I shouldn't eat bread anyway, where are the forks? I'll work it out. Im ready to taste these fries! Sadness ensued. Almost room temperature. I thought by waiting 10 + minutes I could get hot food. I bet they are really good within minutes out of the fryer but not like this. All in all, I ate most of it and smiled at the help. They never asked how it was so I kept to myself due to time constraints. The brisket was very good but everything else was just fair. I'll return and try it again. Hopefully I can give a better mark next time. I want them to succeed!

I'll try not to do this every time I eat here, but folks, you just have to try this place. Four times we've been, and four times we've not been disappointed. I'm telling you, it is one of the best barbecue places I've ever been. Go.

My first time here and we definitely plan to be back. Food was good. Brisket was excellent. Good presentation and several very creative dishes. Cashier was very sweet but a little too helpful and over the top. Started to get a little awkward and uncomfortable like she was going to order for us what she thoyght we should have versus what we asked for. With the exception of the ribs the food was not hot and our order came out very wrong. Portion size was decent for the price but they had no desserts. All in all the food was good enough for us to try it again when we come back to town.

Worst burnt ends I've ever had. Nothing "burnt" about them. Would not recommend this place.

Best BBQ, period. The brisket is awesome, pork is amazing. Fried corn on the cob, yes please. Pass the chain BBQ and experience out of this world food.

We stopped by for a quick bite before launching in to traditional Thanksgiving meals. We split the Jumbo Beef Brisket with Sweet Potato Fries and Baked Beans. Needless to say, it was awesome! The Beef Brisket had a wonderful smoke flavor, that we ordered a second sandwich to go! The sides likewise were very good, and plan to return soon to order the same as we did today. If you are in the area, this is a must visit!

Headed there this evening as it was in walking distance of my hotel. Got the two meat plate, brisket and ribs for $15.99. That included two sides and a drink. The meal was good not great. Brisket was very good, ribs and sides were just ok. They had mild and hot BBQ sauce on the table, but they were average at best. Overall I would be back, but would stick to the brisket. Staff was extremely nice which is why I gave it a fourth star although the food only probably deserved three stars.

I also received a cold meal. Came here on a friends recommendation to try the bbq fries. Tasty, but c'mon, the cheese on top didn't even try to melt it was so cold. Service, fine. Atmosphere, fine.

Hard to give this place a proper review. Went two different consecutive days and had different experiences. Was walking past this place when I saw it and decided to try it and really had low to no expectations. The place itself is not super fancy(but that doesn't matter with a BBQ place IMO). Restaurant was clean and staff friendly both times. Got the 2 brisket sandwiches both days and the first day it was darn good. Brisket was smoked just right(not too dry) and the sauce was good too on tasty toast. I was blown away because I had not had much BBQ this good outside of Texas. The second day was the same experience except the two sandwiches were super super fatty brisket. Ended up not eating most of it. Very disappointed. Maybe this was atypical so I don't want to knock this place too bad because the first time was pretty amazing. I would recommend trying this place. Hard to find places that can cook brisket right.

The best BBQ in Memphis. Search over! Don't miss this hidden gem! And great people who work there too.

The manager is extremely rude. Refused to give me her or the owners name. Terrible customer service.

This was serious middle of the road BBQ. I ordered regular size brisket plate combo and couldn't believe how small it was. Walk up and order at counter. No comparison to Commissary whatsoever. Brisket was cold but taste was good. No other people there and cashier rang me up before I could order desert. In a strip mall.

We've gotten food from here now 6 different times. Wings, Brisket, Ribs, chopped or pulled BBQ pork. Its all really good. Brisket has been my favorite so far. I lived in Texas 5 years growing up, so with that in mind, the Brisket I'm used to is a hard act to follow. One day I went in for brisket at lunch time, and ate the whole pound by myself and went back to get some more that night.

The best and the biggest bbq nachos I have ever had. The staff is great and a very clean place to eat.
